March 21st, Day 672: Cissus antarctica

Fruit Info: Today we have the fruit from what is known as the kangaroo vine. Everything else I can find is just explaining how the plant has ornamental value, but they don’t mention the fruit. So you all can decide if the fruit has ornamental value or not I suppose.

March 22nd, Day 672: Cissus bicolor

Fruit Info: Sometimes I’ll copy paste the entire contents of a Wikipedia article for a fruit when it’s super short and I’m super lazy, and I’m gonna do it again. Except this time I’ve already written way more than the entire article.

Cissus bicolor is a species of vine. It is an accepted name” - The whole Wikipedia article.
It’s not even punctuated properly, this is a new low we’ve hit in the fruit search. But it does have a picture of the fruit so here we go.

March 23rd, Day 674: Jungle Grape

Fruit Info: Cissus hypoglauca, is today’s fruit and it is grown on a very nice vine. The fruit reaches maturity usually around the middle of the year, and when it does it becomes a very lovely shade of blue. The berries are supposed to be rather delicious and “watery” but have an acrid aftertaste the them.

March 25th, Day 676: Veldt Grape

Fruit Info: Cissus quadrangularis, is today’s fruit. Like I almost always do when starting these, have some alternate names for it. Devil’s Backbone, Adamant Creeper, Hadjod, and Pirandai. It is apparently used in a lot of traditional medicines, with some claiming that it has been used for that since antiquity.

March 27th, Day 678: Cyphostemma cirrhosum

Fruit Info:
When ripe, today’s fruit is a bright red color, much like yesterday’s. Unfortunately the only picture I have of this Southern Africa native is of the green, unripe fruit.

March 28th, Day 679: Bois Mapou

Fruit Info: Yes, that really is its name. While the tree that today’s fruit comes from looks like a baobab, and is sometimes even called the Mauritian baobab, it is actually unrelated to modern baobabs. The fruit doesn’t seem to have much use, the plant is only really cultivated for ornamental uses.
